MSc in Food Policy from City University; MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of London, Wye College; PGCert in Further and Higher Education from the University of Gloucestershire; PGCert in Irrigation and Drainage from IPH/UFRGS, Brazil, and BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Has worked in different agribusiness-related roles, namely for an importer of horticultural seeds, ISLA SA; malting of barley for beer making Brahma/AMBEV; commercialisation of agricultural storage systems, Kepler Weber SA; the Embassy of Japan as Aidé to the Ambassador in Brasilia, and as Agricultural Attaché for the British Embassy in Brasília.
