Training and Development
Harper Adams has long worked with businesses in mutually beneficial workforce development programmes. Through strong relationships with business our students benefit from the expertise of external lecturers, placement opportunities, visits to companies and industry-relevant research, enhancing their education and careers opportunities. In turn, through our workforce development programme, companies and their employees are able access to our teaching and resources through short courses, bespoke training, accreditation of in-house courses, and work-based learning at various levels including postgraduate qualifications.
We have established partnerships with a range of diverse companies and professional bodies including: National Grid, MDS, Improve International, European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS), AMTRA and BASIS. Feedback from our employer partners emphasises the impact that positive staff development has on motivation, effectiveness and confidence.
Workforce development has significantly enhanced the university experience for postgraduate students who are often able to work on industry-sponsored projects, whether they are studying independently or are combining higher education with their current employment. It has also provided an exciting and worthwhile experience for individuals working in the sector who have not previously had the opportunity to participate in Higher Education.
