Harper Adams in Ireland
Harper Adams in Ireland represents former Harper Adams students in Ireland. The purpose of the association is to support present students during their course, to support past students during their careers and to enjoy ourselves in the process. The association is a registered charity.
Functions and Meetings
Past students are kept up to date by technical and dinner meetings and conferences. Contact is maintained with fellow alumni through a database of members and the twice-yearly mailing of Network News.
In addition to various social meetings the association's dinner is held every second year alternating either side of the border.
Harper Adams in Ireland was formed as an Association of past students in September 1994.
Its constitution was approved for Charity status and recognised by the Inland Revenue as a Charity, under Northern Ireland legislation, from April 28th 1995. The Inland Revenue Charity Reference Number of Harper Adams in Ireland is XR 15511.
The Association is established as a charity with membership. There are three categories of membership:
- Full Members - past and present students
- Associate Members - prospective students who have received an offer of a place on a course at Harper Adams
- Honorary Members
Under the Constitution the Association is empowered, amongst other things, to provide information relating to courses and the land based industries, offer careers advice and to receive grants, donations and sponsorship to provide awards to students.
The main thrust of the objectives of the Association is: 'to support present students during their courses, to support past students during their careers. and to enjoy ourselves in the process!'
